12/03/05-Flash to Phillies...Tom Gordon has signed a 3-year $18mil contract with the Philadelphia Philles.  So Rivera is without a setup man.  It looks like this deal with Farnsworth is going to go through though, so we'll have our eighth inning guy.  Read more at mlb.com

11/30/05-Yanks sign Stinnett...Kelly Stinnett was signed to a $650K one-year contract to be Posada's backup.  See you later Flaherty.  I'm wondering who Johnson will pitch to.  Stinnett has caught for Johnson before with the Diamondbacks but Posada caught some for Johnson in the postseason and Johnson's numbers were better than with Flaherty.  Stinnett's played with Mets, Brewers, Diamondbacks, Reds, Phillies and Royals. Stinnett Career: .239 BA 63 HR and 216 RBIs. Read more at yankees.com

11/25/05-Yankees announce 2006 schedule...Tickets for regular season home games go on sale December 16.  We're playing 81 home games and 81 away games.  To see the schedule go here or to read more go to yankees.com

11/23/05-Negro Leagues to Honor A-Rod, Cano...Congratulations to Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano who will be honored by the Negro Leagues at the sixth annual Legacy Awards January 7.  Alex Rodriguez will be honored with both the Oscar Charleston Award, for AL MVP, as well as the John Gibson Award, for AL HR leader.  Robinson Cano will be presented with the Larry Doby award for AL Rookie of the Year.  Read more at mlb.com

11/19/05-Martinez hopes to return someday...Tino coming back to New York as a coach would be amazing.  I hope that he decides to retire if the Yanks don't offer him an oppurtunity to play. I would love for him to end his career with the Yankees.  But I know that Tino still has it left in him.  If he does play somewhere else next season I hope he does well.  And after he retires from playing I'm excited to see him in pinstripes to coach.  Just hope that Yankees will give him that oppurtunity.  Read more at yankees.com

11/15/05-Yanks, Matsui reach agreement...Yankees gave Matsui a $52 million four-year contract.  The contract includes a no-trade clause, so Godzilla is staying in pinstripes.  At least they have the left side of the OF figured out.  Read more at yankees.com

11/14/05-A-Rod wins AL MVP...Thank God.  Alex pulled kick ass numbers, offensively and defensively.  If Ortiz would've won, I would've died.  I can't believe the vote was that close though.  I'm so proud because everyone gets on Alex's back because he's paid so much.  But the thing about Alex is he delivers.  This is a guy that switched positions, he went to the hardest city to play in, pressurewise, he was hounded by the media and fans.  I'm proud of Alex for winning and can't wait for next season so he helps us into the postseason, maybe next year he'll show up for the postseason.  Read more at mlb.com

11/10/05-Yankees open negotiations with Matsui....Hideki Matsui is one of the best outfielders we have (the only other ones being Sheffield and Bernie, when he's not having a bad day)  And Bernie is more than likely retiring this season, it's what everyone is expecting.  I just hope that the Yankees don't expect to win the World Series with some rookies.  I would love to get Torri Hunter in pinstripes, even Johnny Damon.  Bubba is an OK player, but I don't feel like he has the Yankee quality in him.  I just hope that this all gets settled soon, so Cashman can focus on getting us a center fielder and some pitchers and a really great first baseman.  Read more at yankees.com

11/9/05-Torre finishes third in Manager of Year voting....I love Joe Torre.  I think he is an amazing manager.  But I love Ozzie Guillen.  I'm glad he won, he deserves it.  He gets so much flack for being outspoken, but I respect him for that.  He tells it like it is.  I love his expressions during games and his accent.  Read more at yankees.com

11/8/05-Yankees decline Martinez's option....Tino is one of my favorite Yankees so this deal is extremely upsetting to me.  I was so excited to see #24 back in pinstripes this season and even more excited in May.  I even gave him a nickname, Tino Maytinez.  But apparantly the Yankees think that some rookie will serve as a better back up.  I'm still hoping that they bring him back with a new contract.  It was just about the money.  Read more at yankees.com
